SACRAMENTO, CA – Last week Senator Ling Ling Chang (R-Diamond Bar) earned the Legislator of the Year Award from the California Dental Hygienists’ Association (CDHA). Senator Chang was selected for the award in part due to her extensive efforts to make sure Californians have access to quality dental care.
“It’s truly an honor to be recognized by the California Dental Hygienists’ Association for my work to improve access to preventative dental hygiene care,” said Senator Chang. “I’m proud of my efforts in the Senate and remain committed to providing dental care to more people in more places. Thank you to CDHA for being such a great partner.”
The California Dental Hygienists’ Association represents all of California and fights to advance the art and science of dental hygiene. CDHA raises awareness of the benefits of prevention and promotes the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, and practice.
In 2019 Senator Chang introduced SB 653 to expand dental hygiene care. This bill will significantly improve patients’ access to preventive dental hygiene care by allowing Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH) to work in more public health settings.
