Senator Ling Ling Chang (R-Diamond Bar) recently named SubsnGrub as the 2018 September Small Business of the Month for Senate District 29th. The recognition ceremony held at the SubsnGrub included Senator Chang, Cypress Mayor Pro Tem Stacy Berry, Council Member Paulo Morales, and the honorees, co-owners Donette Ortiz and Mandi Ortiz.

"I am proud to recognize SubsnGrub as the 29th Senate District's Small Business of the Month," said Senator Chang. "This family-owned business works incredibly hard to provide customers with the best food and service possible while making a positive impact in the community by supporting our students, first responders, and local organizations. Businesses like this are the backbone of our community."

SubsnGrub has been in the City of Cypress since 1977. The Ortiz Family acquired the mom and pop shop in 2007, transforming it into a successful business in Orange County. They started with a single shop in Cypress, and recently established a second shop in Los Alamitos. KTLA even voted SubsnGrub "Top Deli."

“Thank you for coming; we are so honored to receive this recognition! We love what we do and are so thankful to all our wonderful customers and community members not only in the City of Cypress, but who travel a distance to enjoy our subs. Their support makes it all possible. We pride ourselves in being family-owned and operated, and sometimes argued over!” said Donette and Mandi Ortiz.

Each month, Senator Chang honors businesses throughout the 29th District for their contribution to the state's economy and local community. There are approximately 3.9 million small businesses in California, which account for 99.8 percent of the state's employers and employ nearly 49 percent of the state's
