Senator Ling Ling Chang Responds to Senate Vote on ACA 14

Friday, September 13, 2019

SACRAMENTO, CA – Senator Ling Ling Chang (R-Diamond Bar) issued the following statement in response to the Senate vote on ACA 14, which would amend the state constitution to enact the University of California Equal Employment Opportunity Standards Act:

“This proposal is simple.  It ensures anyone who provides support services at California’s publicly-funded University of California system is treated equally for their work.  That’s it. These are not six-figure administrators. They are janitors, groundskeepers, and food servers. And the proposal wouldn’t go into effect unless the voters of California approve it at the ballot box.  Voters should have the opportunity to weigh in on this important issue.”
