A Message From Ling Ling Chang

Dear Friends,

I wanted to share with you several valuable tools to help you and your loved ones during these tough times.

COVID-19 Testing Sites

California is expanding coronavirus testing capacity, and you can now find the nearest testing site for COVID-19 by visiting the state’s website. Alternatively, you can also view testing locations by county:

There are several testing facilities located in the 29th District, including but not limited to Anaheim, Buena Park, Diamond Bar, Fullerton, West Covina, and Yorba Linda.

New Childcare Service for Essential Workers

I have been advocating for parents impacted by COVID-19 and am pleased to see the state launch MyChildCare.ca.gov. This new online portal allows essential workers to find childcare providers by location, a child's age, the number of children accepted, and whether a facility is in a home or a childcare center.

Parents are really struggling to balance the stay-at-home orders, school closures, and working to support their family.  They need all the support we can give them. That's why I introduced the bipartisan SB 943, ensuring that all parents have access to paid family leave benefits if their children are dismissed from school due to COVID-19.

Stage 2 of Reopening Our Economy

As Californians, we are resilient and strong. Many of you have had questions on reopening our economy, and I’m here to share with you that we are entering Stage 2 of reopening our economy. Stage 2 means some retail, manufacturing, and logistics businesses are allowed to reopen with outlined modifications of the health guidelines. Businesses and employers in those sectors will be able to reopen, if they can meet the guidelines provided by the state. Some examples of businesses that can open with modifications include bookstores, clothing stores, florists and sporting goods stores.

If you have questions about reopening our economy amid this crisis, please join my COVID-19 Virtual Town Hall with business experts on Wednesday, May 13 at 7PM. You may RSVP here and email your questions to Senator.Chang@senate.ca.gov.

As always, my staff and I are here to help you during these challenging times. Please do not hesitate to call 714-671-9474 if we may be of assistance. Working together, we are a stronger community.

Sincerely,
Ling Ling Chang
29th District
